Project for July is Close up and Macro photography
Doesn’t have to be flowers or insects, just anything that can be photographed close up, or really close up.
For our workshop meeting on Thursday 14th, we are very lucky to have Michael Pilkington coming to talk to us on the very subject of ‘close up and macro’ photography and has very kindly offered to return for our social evening on Wednesday 27th July to have a look at our pictures and give any help and advice.
Michael is a professional landscape photographer and co-founder of Aspect 2i. He has held exhibitions of his work in Europe as well as the UK and was Executive Producer of Paul Gallagher’s book “Chords of Grey” which received six awards and has written many articles for magazines.
He is a great advocate of post processing and the digital darkroom and has extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and other products and teaches these as part of the Epson Print Academy.
Michael has worked with some of the top practioners in landscape photography who he says have taught him to ‘see’ and also complete the photographic journey to the beautifully crafted finished print which he believes is the ultimate form of photographic expression.
James is organising an outing to Chapel Down Vineyards later in the month where we can look around their gardens as well as the vines. More details to follow.
