September News

First, an apology, I’ve been very slow getting the Newsletter out this month.
I’ve had a very busy week and couldn’t help putting club matters on the back burner for a few days.
Well I think we had a very good meeting last night and the feedback I’m getting is that the critique went down very well.
So, as of now we only need 4 pictures per person on a social night to try and keep that bit of the meeting to 1 hour max.
Then we’ll have our tea and biscuits as usual leaving a half hour session of problems, top tips and perhaps some small presentations.
Hopefully we’ll all get something more out of the evening.
For the other meeting in the month we’ll try and get a speaker or lecturer except maybe for 2 or 3 of the summer months when people are away.
Also, as mentioned last night, the committee as it is now is only going to be held twice a year to make sure the finances, membership, marketing etc are all on track.
That doesn’t stop us having a get together if we feel it’s necessary.
So, we’re adding another night to the club calendar.
1st Monday of the month, to be held at the William Caxton, 7:30pm.
Personally, I’m looking forward to it as I rarely get a chance to talk to anyone at a club night, I’m always doing something.
There’s no agenda for a Monday meeting, but if you’ve got any ideas for outings, projects etc., we’re listening.
The project this month is ‘Castles and Rivers’, and the outing if you want to come is to Bodium on the 17th September.
Pat’s idea was to use the Northiam Ferry which leaves at 10:30 taking 45 minutes and costs £11.00.
Alternatively, meet us there at 11:15 ish.
The ferry returns at 4:00pm
Our next club night is on Wednesday, 28th September at the Zion when we will have Frank Page talking to us with pictures of Iceland.
Cheryl is organising a trip to Biddenden Vineyard on Saturday, 24th September.
Apparently the grapes will be at their best and she’s arranged a tour starting at 10:00am with a platter available at 12:00.
We do need to know numbers, so please let me know ASAP if you’re likely to go.
Finally, don’t forget your subs which are due by the end of the month please.
