December News

Many thanks to Chris Wade who came to talk to us last night on the subject of Hadrians Wall.
By his own admission he’s not a super photographer but his presentation gave all the ‘feel’ of the place and I heard several members expressing their desire to go there for themselves. Obviously we all need to get a suitable dog and a weather app to research the wind !!

Also last night, welcome to Melissa Ednie our newest member who came with her husband Andy to check us out, and I’m sure she will become a great asset to the club.
There were also a number of new faces filling the place up and I’m sorry that I didn’t have time to speak to you all.

A big thank you to Sue for the Chocolate cake and Jo for the Doughnuts which seemed to amaze our speaker, he even threatened to make a return visit just to get another slice.

There is no meeting scheduled for the 27th December as it is so close to Christmas so I look forward to seeing you all again on January 3rd for our SnapChat at the Vine starting at 7:30 ish.

Then on Jan 10th we have Vannessa Kaplen coming to talk to us on ‘Mobile Phone’ photography.
I’m absolutely sure this is one not to miss.
Vannessa was one of the key players in the Tenterden 365 project and has been threatening to come and see what we’re doing for more than two years!

In other news, the dust has now settled after our first exhibition and whilst all the numbers have yet to be crunched I think it’s safe to say it was a great success.
As a club which has only been in existence for two years we printed, mounted and displayed our pictures and we have a ‘Visitors Comments’ book to prove how well it was received. Well done all and I think we’re all ready to go for next years event.

Also, our first Calendar has now sold out. Again the numbers have yet to be crunched but safe to say the club has benefitted with quite a nice income.
We need your ideas as to what to do with it.
Do you think there is some piece of equipment we should have as a club? Should we go for some key speakers? Should we go on some club outings?
What would you like? Please have a think and let us know.
We do need to get organised for the 2018 Calendar, we’re already four months behind !!

Finally, it only remains for me to wish you all a Happy Christmas and as a club let’s look forward to a great 2018.
