About Us

It was born from the phenomenal success of the Tenterden 365 project in 2014.

The Tenterden 365 project consisted of a large group of enthusiastic amateur photographers, immersed into an exciting interactive community project, which then saw their interest in photography grow.

That is how Tenterden Camera Club got started.

The Tenterden 365 project in 2014 brought together a core of people wanting to continue with their photographic experience and increase their knowledge.

Following a meeting in August 2015, the club was established, and we have been slowly working our way forwards.

We meet at the Social Hub in Tenterden, just off the High Street. So far, we have avoided having formal club competitions with outside judges and the overwhelming request from members has always been ‘to keep it friendly’.

Each month we have a project or theme as an idea or subject for our members to take pictures of and to go along with that we try and organise a local outing so we can all get out and about, socialise and help each other with camera settings and composition.

We also try to have a speaker from outside the club to give us an insight into a particular subject or technique.

Then at the end of the month we have a social club evening where we look at our pictures over a cup of tea and biscuits.
